Frances Jean Hughes, 78, Clarksville, died Wednesday, December 1, 2010, at Gateway Medical Center. A celebration of life service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Chapel with Rev. Verlon Moore officiating. Burial will be in Sango Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday and from 9 a.m. until the time of the service Saturday at the funeral home. Neal-Tarpley-Parchman Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. She was born December 6, 1931 in Montgomery County daughter of the late Robert Lee Holt and Maude Murphy Holt. She was also preceded in death by five brothers and three sisters. Mrs. Hughes retired from Frosty Morn Meats after twenty five years and then worked for Hardees as the "Biscuit Maker" for twenty five years. She was a member of Hilldale Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons Darry Winfree (Jackie) and Terry Harris; two sisters, Velma Rhye and Shirley Glasgow; seven grandchildren, Monica and Brian Winfree, Rob and Russell Harris, Lisa Seay, Leslie Elliott and Tony Conaster; and fifteen great-grandchildren. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Ajax Senior Citizen Center, 953 Clark Street, Clarksville, TN 37040.
