Obituary

Wilfred F. Hinchliffe age 90 of West Bridgewater died Wednesday May 19, 2010 surrounded by his family at St. Joseph Manor, Brockton after a period of failing health. He was the devoted husband for 64 years of Marilyn V. (Clark) Hinchliffe. Mr. Hinchliffe was born and raised in Canton a son of the late Lester and Margaret (Graham) Hinchliffe and had resided in West Bridgewater since 1959. Before entering St. Joseph Manor, Mr. Hinchliffe attended Harmony Adult Day Care in West Bridgewater and Taunton.
During WWII Mr. Hinchliffe served in the US Navy stationed in England. For 27 years he was employed at the former Forte Fair Bain Textile Company in Needham. Mr. Hinchliffe retired from Southeastern Regional Vocation High School having worked there as a custodian and bus driver. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed outdoor gardening. He had also been a volunteer at My Brother’s Keeper in Easton since it started in 1988. He will always be remembered for saying “See you later kiddo and coffee and donuts period”.
Mr. Hinchliffe leaves 106 descendants, nine children: Fred Hinchliffe and his wife Louise of Ellenton, Florida; Patti Williams of Quitman,Texas; Marilyn Greaver and her husband Roger of Mineola,Texas; W. Patrick Hinchliffe and his wife Dottie of Calabash, N. Carolina; Richard Hinchliffe and his wife Connie of Nashua, New Hampshire; Robert Hinchliffe and his wife Virginia of N. Easton; Barbara St. George, Darleen Stetson and her husband Charlie and Gary Hinchliffe all of West Bridgewater. He leaves 27 grandchildren, 56 Great grandchildren, 14 great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. He was the brother of William Hinchliffe of New Hampshire and the late Jack Hinchliffe, Helen Zinzer, Harriet Durkee, Lester Hinchliffe, Margaret Churchill, Betty Woods and the late Fred Hinchliffe. He touched many lives and will be dearly missed by all.
Funeral from the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Monday at 8 am. Funeral Mass in St. Ann Church, West Bridgewater at 9 am. Visiting hours will be Sunday 2-6 pm. Donations in Wilfred’s name may be made to My Brothers Keeper P. O. Box 338 No. Easton, MA 02356.
