Obituary

Nadine Collins, 92, of Ladson, widow of Les C. Collins died Wednesday, January 20, 2010 at Trident Medical Center.

Funeral service will be held Saturday, January 23, 2010 at 11 o’clock at the Chapel of the Holy Spirit, 526 College Park Road, Ladson.
Friends may visit at James A. Dyal Funeral Home, Summerville from 6 until 8 o’clock Friday evening.

Nadine was born February 23, 1917 in Solo, Missouri, daughter of the late John and Lula Pennington. She was a graduate of Willow Springs High School. She served during World War II building aircraft and also worked as a telephone operator. She enjoyed working at the Ben Franklin Five & Dime. She was the last founding member of the Chapel of the Holy Spirit.

Surviving are 2 sons: Terry Collins (Gloria) of Ladson and Tom Collins of Beaufort, 2 daughters: Janis Sheppard (Bill) and Jeanine Collins both of Summerville, 1 sister: Johnnie Zagami of Florida, 8 grandchildren: Kristi, Tiffany, Pete, Jason, Alex, Amy, Christopher and Laura. 6 great grandchildren: Nathanael, Trinity, Victoria, Araya, Vivian, and Liam.
She was predeceased by her husband, Les Collins and 2 sisters: Ruth Pennington and Dessa Pennington.
Nadine is remembered and loved as kind, gentle and compassionate with a wonderful sense of humor. She loved her family and friends unconditionally. She is a lady.
