Nancy Marie Hargett McDuffie, 82, of Fitzgerald, Georgia, died January 6, 2010 at her residence.
Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Friday, January 8 at Mt. Olive Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Hand and Rev. Tommy Baker officiating. Interment will follow in Mt. Olive Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 7-9 Thursday evening at the funeral home in Fitzgerald.
Mrs. McDuffie was born September 18, 1927 in Ocilla to the late Dewey B. and Lillie Mae Harper Hargett. She lived in Fitzgerald most of her life. Mrs. McDuffie was a former employee of the Monarch Company and a former nurse at Dorminy Medical Center. She was a member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and the Lydia Sunday School Class.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law: Dewey T. “Butch” & Estelle McDuffie of West Green; daughter and son-in-law: Sue & Larry Apperson of Fitzgerald; grandchildren: Michelle Parker (Darrell) Livingstone of Douglasville, Terri McDuffie (John) Hughes of Irwinville, Michael (Katherine) Parker, Jr. of Auburn, AL, Jana Apperson (Wayne) Thompson of Bowdon, Patrick McDuffie of Jacksonville, FL, Kelly (Michelle) Apperson of Ocilla, Kayla, Spencer, Nicholas, Angie and Christopher McDuffie of West Green, Mark (Sheila) Morgan of Nichols; 9 great grandchildren; sisters: Mary H. Amerson of Mansfield and Brenda H. White of Pateros, WA; sisters-in-law: Farris N. Hargett and Betty P. Hargett and a brother-in-law: Roy Evans, Sr., as well as several nieces and nephews. Along with her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John T. McDuffie, daughter, Linda F. Parker, brothers, Vernon “Bill” Hargett and Ralph Hargett and sisters, Daphine H. Coleman, Imogene “Jean” H. Evans and Stella Hargett.
