Martha M."Hattie" (Chaisson) Savoy, 90, of 22 Maple Street, died Thursday, July 3 in Lanessa Extended Care, Webster after an illness.
Her husband Otto A. Savoy died in 1994. She leaves her daughter Anilta Cournoyer-Sullivan and her husband Michael of Oxford, a sister Vernique Trudeau of Montreal, Canada, a grandson Craig Cournoyer of Oxford, a grandaughter Deborah Hopkinson and her husband Ralph of Douglas, two great-grandsons Dylan & Dakota Cournoyer and several nieces and nephews. She is pre-deceased by 15 brothers and sisters.
Mrs. Savoy was born in Miscou Island, New Brunswick, Canada daughter of Joseph E. and Margaret (Gauthier) Chaisson. She was a clerk at Otto's Body Repair & Gas for many years retiring in the 1980's. She was a member of St. Mary's Church where she was a Eucharistic Minister. She volunteered at Assumption College for many years. She enjoyed gardening, quilting, knitting, entertaining and cooking.
The funeral will be held Monday, July 7 from J. HENRI MORIN & SON FUNERAL HOME, 23 Maple Terr., Spencer with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 7 Church St., Spencer. Burial will be in Mary, Queen of the Rosary Cemetery. Calling hours are Sunday, July 6 from 3:00-5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Spencer Police Association, 9 West Main Street, Spencer, MA 01562 or to the Alzheimer's Association Massachusetts Chapter, 311 Arsenal Street, Watertown, MA 02472.
