Obituary

WORCESTER- Francis J. Naumiec, 77, of Worcester, died Monday, June 30 at home. He leaves four children, Ann Marie Turano wife of Anthony Turano of Grafton, Joseph Naumiec of Shrewsbury, Philip Naumiec and his wife Dianne of Millbury and Sandra Naumiec in Ohio; two sisters, Theresa Courtney and Florence Callahan both of Worcester; four grandchildren; nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by four sisters, Wanda Koskie, Elizabeth Sutton, Stacia Bogigian, Jane Legere Skog and three brothers, Edward, Adolph and John Naumiec.

He was born in Worcester, son of Joseph J. and Petronella (Chomicz) Naumiec and graduated from St. Mary’s High School and Holy Cross College. He was an Army veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Naumiec was a teacher in the Shrewsbury school system for many years. He was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church, the American Legion Main South Post 341 and Vernon Hill Post 435 and the Italian American Club.

The funeral will be held on Thursday, July 3 from CALLAHAN & FAY BROTHERS FUNERAL HOME, 61 Myrtle St., with a Mass at 10:00 AM in Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1290 Grafton Street. Burial will be in Notre Dame Cemetery. Visiting hours are Wednesday, July 2 from 4:00–7:00 PM in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
