Obituary

Sister Aurea Goulet, CSC (Sister Mary Amedee), 95, of the Sisters of Holy Cross, died March 28, 2008, at the Holy Cross Health Care Center.
She was born on August 6, 1912, in St. Valerien de Rimouski, Qc. and was the daughter of Joseph and Philomene (Beaulieu) Goulet.
Sister entered the Congregation of the Sisters of Holy Cross in 1934 and made her final profession in 1941. She served in the Congregation for 74 years.
Sister Aurea earned a BA from Notre Dame College, Manchester, and an MA from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend IN.
Sister taught in the elementary parochial schools under the direction of the Sisters of Holy Cross in Gonic, Manchester, and Somersworth, NH.
She also ministered for 21 years at Holy Angels School in St. Albans, VT. Sister Aurea served the Diocese of Burlington VT, for eleven years as Diocesan Supervisor of Elementary Schools, and ten years as a secretary. During her tenure the Elementary Schools in Vermont flourished. Upon her retirement in 1986, Sister was transferred to St. George Manor where she continued ministering in Catholic Schools. She served as a bookkeeper for St. Anthony School in Manchester for four years.
Sister was a remarkable educator and loved being involved in Catholic Schools. She will always be remembered for her dedication to Catholic schools and for he lovely smile.
Family members include 2 sisters, Bernadette Muldoon, of New Bedford, MA, Yvonne Kozacka, of Point, TX; a brother Armand Goulet, of Hernando, FL; several nieces and nephews.

A Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Tuesday April 1, 2008 at St. George Manor.
Burial followed at St.Augustin Cemetery, South Beech St., Manchester.
