George David " Dave" Harless, Sr., 78, of Chesterfield died on May 1, 2019 in Ohatchee, Alabama after an extended illness.
He was born on February 25, 1941 in Anderson, IN to George S. and Florence V. (Shipley) Harless. He was a 1960 graduate of Highland High School where he ran track and cross country.
He worked production at Delco Remy for 43 years and retired in 2005.
He attended Parkview Wesleyan Church. He enjoyed ABC bowling, the casino and horse racing, 2 mile walks everyday, spending time with his family, loved going to the beach, westerns on TV, and was a Pacers and Colts fan.
Survivors include his 3 children, Diane (Donald Clark) Hinton, Dave (Carol) Harless, and Donna (Chase) Hacker; 1 brother, Joe (Arnetta) Harless; 6 grandchildren, Donavon Harless, Denna (Jason) Robinson, Danna (Cory) Shew, Avery Hacker, Colin Hacker, and Cody (Tonie) Buck; 7 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews, and a special friend, Dan Hinton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Barbara Ann Harless who died in 2013; and a brother, Jack Harless.
Services will be held at 10a.m. on Monday, May 6, 2019 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be on Sunday, May 5, 2019 from 3-6pm at the funeral home.
