John David Wood, 80, of Alexandria, died April 25, 2019 at his residence after an extended illness.
John was born December 29, 1938 in Indianapolis the son of Thomas Clark and Violet (Howson) Wood.
He retired from General Motors after 30 years of employment. He also drove a school bus. John enjoyed woodworking and stained glass art. He was a member of Piston Poppers Car Club and enjoyed his beloved pets, Sadie and Squirt.
John is survived by his wife, Robin (Barnes) Wood; seven children, Vicky (Jim Lee) Paschal, Tammy Arline and John (Andrea) Wood all of Anderson; Lori (David) Stironek of Markleville, Jason (Sarah) Warren of Greenwood, Mindy Davis of Greenwood and Amanda Elbert of Indianapolis, 14 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Janet (Donald) Wright of Florida, many nieces and nephews
He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife, JoAnna Wood, 2nd wife, Lois Wood; daughter, Deborah Ann Aynes, twin brothers, Larry and Terry Wood; grandson, Caidyn Bugby and niece, Samantha Clevenger.
Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday, April 29, 2019 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Randy Perry officiating. Burial will be in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be Sunday, April 28, 2019 from 4 to 6 p.m. and one hour prior to the service Monday at the funeral home.
