Emma L. Cooper, 96, of Anderson died March 18, 2019 at Community Hospital in Anderson.
She was born September 1,1922 in Anderson, daughter of Mance and Claira (Darby) Gaddis and attended Jefferson School in North Anderson. She was a domestic worker for George Crittenberg for 20 years and following that she work 22 years at Delco Remy. She was a member of Allen Chapel A.M.E. She was a volunteer with Red Cross, Turtle Creek Nursing Facility, Meals on Wheels, Paramount Theater, Y-Teens Basketball League Coach, Eagle Creek Children's Golf League, Community Hospital, Food Bank Board and Independent Federal Credit Union Board.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lonnie Cooper, her parents, and her sister and brother-in-law, Ella Gaddis and Dan Thurman.
Emma is survived by a special grandson, Ricky Poore, a special daughter, Mary Smith and great nieces, Glenda and Una, and several great great nieces and nephews.
Since there will be no service, Emma requests that anyone who would have sent flowers, please make a donation to her favorite charity, St. Judes Children's Hospital.
