Delpha Pearl (Estes) Sample, 91, of Anderson, died Sunday, February 17, 2019 at Community Northview Care Center in Anderson following an extended illness.

She was born on January 17, 1928 in Cumberland County, Kentucky, the daughter of Buford and Lillie Pearl (Pierce) Estes. She moved to Anderson at the age of 18 and married Willis E. Sample on October 5, 1946 in Tipton. She was a homemaker and had briefly worked for Best Ever Dairy. Delpha attended Cross Roads United Methodist Church and enjoyed sewing, knitting, cooking, crocheting and loved dogs.

She is survived by her husband, Willis; her daughter, Patricia (husband James) Keogh of Anderson; her son, Robert (wife Cheryl) Sample of Colorado; 4 grandchildren, Mary Pat (husband Jeremiah) Stage of Warsaw, Geoffrey (wife Whitney) Keogh of Anderson; Luke Sample of Denver , Colorado, and Madelyne Sample of Denver, Colorado; great grandchildren, Moxie and Magnolia Stage, Jaxson Roemhildt, and Ari and Ada Keogh.

The family would like extend a special thank you to the entire staff of the Community Northview Care Center and Nurse, Norma, and the staff of Great Lakes Hospice.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, February 22, 2019 at 12 Noon at Cross Roads United Methodist Church with Pastor John Hackney officiating. Burial will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery.

Visitation will be held 2 hours prior to the funeral at the church.

Memorial contributions may be given to the Madison County Humane Society.
