Our precious mother, Evelyn Godbee Cooper, 85, ascended into her Heavenly home at her residence on Sunday while she was surrounded by her loving family.
A memorial celebration will be held at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, November 24, 2018 at National Hills Baptist Church, 2725 Washington Road, Augusta, where she was a member for 15 years. Pastor Kevin Steele will officiate. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at National Hills.
A private interment will take place at a later date at Hillcrest Memorial Park where she will be laid to rest next to her beloved husband.
Mrs. Cooper was born in Sylvania, the daughter of the late Joseph Henry Godbee and Mabel Ogelsby Godbee. She was a loving homemaker and devoted her life to her family.
She was preceded in death by her husband, C.V. Cooper, Jr. who passed away in 1999. They were married for 46 years.
She is survived by three daughters, Kathy Haines (Steve) of Aiken, South Carolina, Amy Loiacono (John) and Janet MacDonald (William) both of Martinez; two sons, Victor Cooper (Tammy) and David Cooper (Bridget), both of Augusta; one sister and one brother, Barbara Boyd and Melbourne Godbee, both of Sylvania; eleven grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
