Ruth M. Burkhart, 88 of Anderson, went to be with the Lord on Nov. 4, 2018.
She was born Oct. 3, 1930, in Anderson, IN., to Walter and Anna Johnson. Ruth married Howard S. Burkhart at the Park Place Church of God, on March 26, 1950. They resided in Anderson, where Ruth was a homemaker.
They attended Madison Park Church of God. Together, they raised their family to follow Christ. They enjoyed gardening, farming and spending time with family.
They have four children, the Rev. Stephen (Sharon) Burkhart of Michigan, David -deceased (Donna) Burkhart of California, Marilyn (Gary) Shields of Ohio, and Rev. Timothy (Marisa) Burkhart of Indiana; 13 grandchildren, Tamara Burkhart, Rachel (Brice) Smith, Leah (Casey) Sprunger, Matthew, Stacey, Garrett, and Anthoney Burkhart, Jannai (Bethany) Shields, Javan (Brittany) Shields and Lael (Nathan) Callon, Miriam (Joe) Tudyk, Hannah and Sarah Burkhart; seven great-grandchildren, Brandon and Emily Smith, Ellie and Jack Sprunger, Maryem and Tirzah Shields, and Katherine Shields; sister, Lois P. Smith of Carmel
Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 10, 2018 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Rev. Jim Lyon officiating. Burial will follow in Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. Friday and one hour before the 10:30 a.m. service Saturday.
