Thomas E. "Tom" Kirk, 87, Anderson died November 1, 2018, at Hancock Regional Hospital, Greenfield, after a brief illness.
Tom was born May 12, 1931 in Muncie, the son of Earl and Bernice (Hamilton) Kirk. He served in the United States Army. He earned his bachelor of science degree from Purdue University.
He was an electrical engineer for Delco Remy Division of General Motors for 32 years, and held 33 U.S. Patents, before retiring in 1987.
Tom was a member of First Presbyterian Church in Anderson. He volunteered for over 5,000 hours as a Red Coat at St. Vincent Anderson Hospital.
He is survived by his sons, Thomas (Susan) Kirk of Califon, NJ; Michael (Joy) Kirk of Greenfield and daughter, Kristen Kirk of Holland, MI; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; six great grandchildren, and five step-great grandchildren.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Judith Ann "Judy" (Atwood) Kirk, whom he married November 24, 1957 at First Baptist Church in Anderson..
Memorial services will be 11 a.m. on Monday, November 5, 2018 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service.
Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the charity of the donor's choice.
