Joyce Maxine (Bowers) Muir, 87, of Anderson, went to be with the Lord after an extended illness.
Joyce was born December 18, 1930 in Anderson, the daughter of Gordon and Mabel (Hornback) Bowers. She graduated from Anderson High School.
She was a nurse aide at Community Hospital for 34 years before retiring in 1996 to care for her beloved husband.
She was very active in the Democratic Party. She was active with Shadyside Little League for 16 years. She was an avid Anderson Indians, Chicago Cuba, Notre Dame and Colts Fan.
Joyce is survived by her sons, Rick (Peggy) Muir and Jeff (Kathy) Muir all of Anderson; sister, Barbara Davis; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; many special friends and neighbors, including Beth Tharp.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Leon Muir, daughter, Debbie Reisinger, sister, Norma Housh and her mother and father-in-law, Lucy and Otto Muir.
The family wishes to thank Community Hospital, Community Hospital Cancer Center, I.U. Medical Center and Countryside Manor Rehabilitation and St. Vincent Hospice.
Services will be 6 p.m. on Monday, November 5, 2018 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Rev. P.T. Morgan of St. Anne's Anglican Church officiating.
Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Monday prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Community Hospital Foundation; 1515 North Madison Avenue; Anderson, IN 46011.
