Thelma Jeanne Brumfield
10/28/2018

Thelma "Jeanne" Brumfield, Muncie, died peacefully at her home surrounded by loved ones, October 28, 2018.

Jeanne was born on October 26, 1927, in the town of Gaston, IN, the daughter of George and Anna (Hannon) Linn. She was employed by Warner Gear, working in the Production Office for 34 years retiring in 1982.

Jeanne loved the Lord and served Him as a member of Bethany Christian Church, Anderson, for 39 years. During her lifetime at Bethany, Jeanne was a member of Sarah Circe, Care Ministry, baby nursery, Lookout Sunday School Class, door greeter, choir member and helped with bereavement dinners.

Jeanne loved people and served the Lord by helping others all her life. If she saw a need, she responded by providing food, transportation, cards, phone calls, and any other way she could be helpful.

One of the things Jeanne enjoyed most each year was decorating her home (inside and outside) for Christmas and then sharing her home by hosting parties during the Christmas season and other times of the year. She enjoyed watching her friends have fun, play games or just sit and share together. Laughter was always a great medicine for Jeanne and she remained positive throughout her illness. During her illness, she would watch Joyce Meyer on T.V. and also enjoyed watching and learning from Charles Stanley on Sundays when she was unable to attend church services. One of her special gifts was being an encourager to others whether a friend or a stranger. Those who were fortunate to know Jeanne and be her friend were blessed by being around her. She would often say "God is with me and He will take care of me."

Jeanne had numerous friends from her church and also from her many lifetime experiences. Each friend brought their own special gifts of joy and happiness into her life and she included ALL her many friends when she said, "God has given me friends and lasting friendships throughout my life as a blessing for me, and I will be grateful to Him, forever."

Jeanne had an avid love for all wildlife, animals of all kinds, especially her late dog, Sam, and her kitty, Bandi, who she rescued. She loved watching the birds and all of God's beautiful creations. She had a great pride and admiration for Muncie Central Bearcats Basketball and was a faithful follower of their games for 25 years; she also enjoyed watching the Indiana Pacers and the Indianapolis Colts games on T.V.

Survivors include four daughters, Jonnie (Frank) DiMaggio, Riverview, MI; Cindy (Jerry) Frazier, Muncie, IN; Mary Jane (Gary) Ferree and Susan (John) Guajardo all of Anderson; two sons, Bill Brumfield, Daleville and Roger (Cathy) Brumfield of Anderson; grandchildren: Kirsten Tabor, Frank (Lisa) DiMaggio, Ryan (Michelle) Gott, Bracken (Trey Hicks) Gott, Kirk (Pauli) Hodson, Becky McGilvra, Barb Hall, Denise (David) Glesing, Denae (Ryan) Garrett, Abraham (Carrie) Ferree, Michael Guajardo, Daniel Guajardo, Daniel Guajardo, Alyssa (Dave) Harp; many great grandchildren; many great-great grandchildren; and cousin, Bobby.

Those who preceded Jeanne in death were her parents, her first husband of 25 years, Wayne Hodson and her second husband of 29 years, Ralph Brumfield, also her wonderful siblings, brothers and sister-in-law, Max "Pete" Linn and his wife, Wilma, John Linn, her daughter-in-law, Bessie Brumfield, her nephews, Ron Brooks and Jeff Linn plus many of her friends.

Jeanne wanted to give a special thank you tribute with her prayers of gratitude, to her niece, Judy Brooks, and her step-daughter, Cindy Frazier, for watching over her every need each day during her illness. She also wanted to give her thanks to her special friend and caregiver, Nancy (Bruce) Johnson and her sister friend, Kay (Don) Vanderluit; her loyal friend who called her each evening, Betty Warrum and to Dwayne (Tracy) Smith from her church, who brought peace and comfort to Jeanne each week by faithfully serving her communion. Special thank-you to Jerry Frazier for his many acts of kindness and time. Many other friends helped during her illness to provide comfort.

The family would like to thank all the nurses of Premier Hospice in Carmel for their care and comfort in her last days.

Jeanne's favorite scripture is found in Galatians 5:22, THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT is Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness, and Self-Control. We will all miss our precious friend, Jeanne, and we will see her again one day in Heaven.
