Norma June "Granny" (Hellems) Connelly, 86, of Anderson died September 17, 2018 at her residence after a short battle with cancer.
Granny was born January 27, 1932, in Anderson, the daughter of Paul R. and Doris E. (Basicker) Hellems and was a graduate of Anderson High School.
She was a homemaker, a member of Optical Optimists of Christ Lutheran Church. She was an avid reader, animal lover and loving mother and grandmother and military wife.
She is survived by her daughters, Lynn Melson, Lou (Bob) Buston; sister, Paulette (John) Wiley; four grandchildren, Christopher (Lyn) Melson; Misha (Chris Howard) Melson; Joshua Buston and Jacob (Kristina) Buston; great grandchildren, Chrystal (David), Trey (Mea), Makinna, Uriah, Izzabelle, Lucas, Ellie; great great- grandchildren, Isaiah, Matthew, Ana, Andrew and Gabriella; nieces and nephews, Dan Spegal, Kim (Pam) Spegal, Pete (Barb) Phillips and Andy Phillips.
Granny was preceded in death by her parents and her husband, Cline Connelly, sister and brother-in-law, Nancy (Gene) Spegal and a nephew, Mike Spegal.
Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 22, 2018 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with visitation from 11 a.m. until the service. Cremation will follow the service.
Memorial contributions may be given to Madison County Humane Society, Christ Lutheran Church Blind Ministry or American Cancer Society.
