Clara Sue “Susie” Hicks, 81, of Chesterfield passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2018.
She was born on July 3, 1937, in Hagerstown, the daughter of Paul C. and Luella (Gauker) White. She was a 1955 graduate of Hagerstown High School.
She was active in the American Legion Auxiliary of the Chesterfield American Legion Post #408 and previously of the Pendleton Legion Post #117.
Survivors include her six children: Deb (Ray) Wylie, Mike (Becky) Cheek, Joe (Melody) Cheek, Vicki (Rick) Walsh, Tina (Jamie) Cosentino, Sandra (Dave) Peavler-Brock; grandchildren: Tara (Toby Bodkin) Robb, Mallory Robb, Matthew Cheek, Jason (Marisol) Barrett, Kenny Barrett, Missy Barrett, Laci (Gene) Hammons, Darius Cosentino, Sam Cosentino, Lucas Cosentino, Erin (Anthony) Hagerty, Bruce (Stephanie) Cheek, Scott (Natalie) Cheek, Krista (Jason) Honeycutt; great grandchildren Kyndal Bodkin, Wyatt Barrett, Carolina Barrett, Grayson Honeycutt, Hope Hagerty, Hawk Hagerty, Logan Cheek and Penny Cheek; brother, Bruce (Linda) White and sister, Myra Lou Crull, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Paul C. and Luella White, husband Robert Hicks, daughter Linda Michelle “Mickie” Peavler, brothers Darrell White, Denzil White and Larry White.
Services will be Sunday, September 9, 2018 at 3 p.m. at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service. Burial will follow at Saunders Cemetery in Daleville.
Visitation will be two hours prior to the service Sunday at the funeral home.
Memorial contributions may be given to Alzheimer's Association.
