Ruth Virginia (Kilgore) Skidmore, 92, died July 19, 2018, at St. Vincent Anderson after a brief illness.
She was born December 27, 1925 in Dunbar, Virginia, the daughter of William A. and Maxine S. (Stapleton) Kilgore.
Ruth was a homemaker and was affiliated with the Methodist Church. Ruth's loving husband, whom she married June 23, 1961, Lee R. Skidmore died in 2010. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
She is survived by her daughter, Connie Wood, of Anderson; three sons, William (Pauline) Lester of Anderson, Ronald (Martha) Lester of Ft. Myers, FL; Carl (Debbie) Vullo of Ocala, Florida; 12 grandchildren; many great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters, Martha Whiteaker, Ida Kilgore, Helen Hill, Grace Nicholson, Louise Kaylor and Shirley Kilgore and brothers, Robert, J.B. and Harrison Kilgore, and a grandson, Jason Vullo.
Service will be held at noon on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service, officiated by Pastor Ned Clark. Entombment will follow at East Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 10 AM until noon on Tuesday, prior to the service.
