Rodney Charles Whalon

Rodney Charles Whalon, 89, of Anderson went home to be with the Lord July 17, 2018 at St. Vincent Anderson.
Rodney was born December 29, 1928 in Fulton, New York, the son of Robert E. and Bessie (Osborn) Whalon. He graduated from Fulton High School and received his bachelors of science in Religious studies at Anderson University. He was a wholesale sales manager at Warner Press for 41 years before retiring in1991.
He attended Park Place Church of God where he was a member of Pathways Sunday School Class and active with the Food Pantry. He was a member of the Executive Investment Club. He was active in Boy Scouts of America Troop 249. He was an Eagle Scout and worked in Scouting all his life. He was proud that both of his sons and three of his grandsons were also Eagle Scouts..
Rodney is survived by his wife of 67 years, Patsy (Austin) Whalon of Anderson; five children, Michael R. (Denise) Whalon of Lee Summit, MO; Rhonda J. (Tim) Henkle of Carmel, Charlene R. (Christopher) Sparks of Fort Myers, Florida; Karen R. (Ronald) Throesch of Holland, Michigan and Robert W. (Patricia) Whalon of Anderson; 17 grandchildren, Todd, Trent, Katie and Joseph Whalon, Ryan, Amberly, Jennifer and Aaron Henkle, Josh, Jama and Jon Barr, Stacy, Forrest, Andrew and Benjamin Throesch, Audra Fayth and Adam Whalon; 20 great grandchildren, two cousins, Betty Miller and Kathy Woods both of Fulton, New York.
He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Kyle Henkle.
Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Monday, July 23, 2018 at Park Place Church of God. Burial will follow at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
Friends may call Sunday, July 22, 2018 from 2 to 5 p.m. at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral
Service and one hour prior to the service at Park Place on Monday.
Memorial contributions may be given to Park Place Church of God Food Pantry.
