Joyce M. Snow, 85, of Anderson, passed away on June 28, 2018 in Redlands, California.
She was born on April 25, 1933 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin to John Adam and Elizabeth Fuchs Pfenning, German immigrants who came to America. Joyce spent her childhood in Milwaukee as one of seven children whose parents owned and operated a grocery store. The family moved to Chesterfield, Indiana in 1950 when Joyce was 17. She went to work as a receptionist following graduation from high school. She met and married Harold “Whitey” Snow and they were married on August 31, 1957. Joyce spent the next several years raising her two sons, Tom Snow and Steve Snow. Joyce was a member of the Church of God and attended the Church of God at West Anderson and later South Meridian Church of God. In January, 2015, Joyce relocated to Redlands, California to be near her son Steve, his wife Pam and her 3 grandchildren, Erin, Elizabeth and Sam. She resided at Mission Commons retirement community and later at Somerford Place where she was living at the time of her death.
She is survived by her two sons, Steve Snow (wife Pam) of Redlands, California, and Tom Snow (wife Mary) of Indianapolis; two sisters, Mary Jane (Peter) Barker of Fort Ogden, Florida, and Annie King of Coconut Creek, Florida; three grandchildren, Sam Snow, Erin Snow and Elizabeth Snow, and one great grandchild all of California.
She was preceded in death by her husband Harold, her parents; her brothers, David Pfenning and Daniel Pfenning and sisters, Caroline Foth and Rose Hunt.
Friends may call from 10 AM until Noon on Friday, July 6, 2018 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service. Graveside services officiated by Pastor Dale Landis will follow at 12:30 PM at East Maplewood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to South Meridian Church of God in Anderson or the American Cancer Society.
