William Stinson

William M. Stinson MD, 96, of Anderson died peacefully at home on Sunday morning, July 1, 2018.

He was born on May 29, 1922 in Anderson, the son of Knox and Nettie Stinson.
He was a physician in Anderson for over 50 years and was active in the Madison County Medical Society and served as Chief of Staff at St. Johns Medical Center. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church, and was an Army Veteran. He adored his sweet wife Betty, and treasured his time spent with his family.

Survivors include his wife of 73 years, Betty Latchaw Stinson, a daughter and son-in-law, Peg Tate and David Poulos of Chapel Hill, NC; daughter-in-law Andrea Stinson of Anderson; 2 grandsons Wesley Stinson of St. Joe, MI and Alex (Rachelle) Stinson of Fishers, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his son, D. Mark Stinson, and five siblings, Forrest, Opal, Corinne, Mary Martha, and twin brother Bob.

Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, July 4, 2018 at 1PM at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service officiated by Rev. Kevin Bausman. Visitation with the family will take place on Wednesday from 11 AM until the time of the service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to the St. Vincent Anderson Regional Hospital Foundation or to the donors choice of charity.
