Vera Jean McGregor Sartin, age 88, died Friday, June 22, 2018 at her home in Oxford, MS. She was born in Tunica County, MS to the late Cliff and Eula Campbell McGregor. Jean was a long-time faithful and active member of Anchor Baptist Church where she served many years teaching children of all ages. Homebound visiting was an enjoyable mission and she was always concerned about the needs of others.
Services are planned for Monday, June 25, 2018 at 12:00 PM in the Henry Chapel of Seven Oaks Funeral Home with Bro. Gerald Shook officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until Noon service time. A private burial will be held in Longtown Cemetery in Crenshaw, MS. Jean is survived by her son, Clifford Andrew “Andy” Sartin (Jennifer) of Natchez, MS; her granddaughter, Kaitlyn Mayfield; her son-in-law, Chuck Mayfield; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Houston Sartin; her daughter, Sylvia Sartin Mayfield; her sister, Edna Jenkins; and two brothers, John McGregor and Mike McGregor.
