Brian J. McCarthy 55, a lifelong Brockton resident died unexpectedly June 18,2018. He was the son of the late George B. and Marie A. (O’Brien) McCarthy. Brian was a 1980 graduate of Brockton High School and a long-time employee for Save-A-Lot in Brockton retiring less than a year ago.
He was a man who enjoyed simple pleasures; meals at Franks Restaurant, old movies, classic TV shows and was an avid Sci Fi fan.
He will be remembered for his long walks around Brockton with a big smile and kind heart that he shared with all he met. He was genuinely liked by everyone and will be missed by those who loved him.
Brian is survived by his siblings; George B. McCarthy Jr. of FL, Patricia B. Fay of East Bridgewater, Paul F. McCarthy recently of New Bedford, Ann M. Thomas of Raynham, Jacqueline McCarthy of Brockton and Geraldine Bausemer also of Raynham. He also leaves several nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Visiting hours will be in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont Street (Rte.123) on Sunday, June 24, 2018 from 12-4pm. A funeral procession will form from the funeral home on Monday at 9:30am for a funeral mass in Christ the King Parish at 10:30am. Cremation will follow. He will be buried with his parents in Pine Grove Cemetery Pembroke at a later date.
