Norman D. Peyton

Norman D. Peyton, 79, Alexandria, went home to be with the Lord after an extended illness on June 7, 2018 at Community Hospital.
He was born March 1, 1939 in Bedford, the son of Harold and Edna (Spaulding) Peyton.
He served in the United States Navy from 1957 to 1960.
Norman was a tool and die maker at General Motors for 38 years before retiring in December of 1999.
He was a member of Kingston Avenue Baptist Church, United Auto Workers, delivered Meals on Wheels, loved houseboat vacations on Lake Cumberland, gardening and biscuits and gravy at Hardees. He loved his dog Ray Ray and "he will be 29 on his next birthday."
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn (Davis) Peyton whom he married July 11, 1970; two daughters, Debbie Moody and Kelly Hall both of Anderson, sister, Linda Clear of Vancouver, Washington; sister-in-law, Beverly Peyton of Summitville; nine grandchildren, Kiley (Robert) Beisley, David Kendall, Daniel Duncan, Jennifer Marshall, Josh (Laura) Sigler, Gina Weir, Jason Hilligoss, Shastiny Austin and Hunter Austin; 12 great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Norman was preceded in death by his parents, three daughters, Cindra Peyton, Tamra Sigler and Lisa Cohee; stepmother, Ella Louise Peyton, twin sister, Norma Prieur; two brothers, Don and Ron Peyton.
Services will be at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 at Rozelle-Johnson Funeral Service with Pastor Brad Storm officiating. Burial will follow in East Maplewood Cemetery. Visitation will be on Wednesday, from Noon until 2:30 p.m.
Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude's Children's Hospital or Richland Township Fire Department.
Norman's faith in Jesus and his love for his family were most important to him.
