Carolyn Young Miles, age 76, died peacefully at her home in Water Valley on May 20, 2018. She was born March 16, 1942 in Greenville, MS to the late Edward Joseph and Thelma Rowlen Shaffer. Carolyn was an active member of Campground Baptist Church and a retired seamstress for Big Yank Industries in Water Valley, MS. She enjoyed cooking, shopping, and sewing. Carolyn raised Pomeranian dogs and always had some as pets. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family, her grandchildren, and her friends.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, May 22, 2018 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Camp Ground Baptist Church near Water Valley, MS. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 at the church with with Bro. Jerry King officiating. Burial will be in Camp Ground Cemetery with Tony Miles, Brian Crawford, Johnny Coaten, Guy Coaten, Collin Crawford and John Gordon serving as pallbearers. Carolyn is survived by her sons, Jerry (Katie) Miles of Tiplersville, MS and Perry Joe (Melanie) Miles of Memphis, TN; and six grandchildren, Tony Miles, Michael Moudy, Melissa Radcliff, Rhonda Moudy, McKayla Patterson and Audrea Hobby. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard Miles; two daughters, Patricia Hobby and Janie Miles; and one son, Robert Barnes, Jr. | ||||
