Caterina (Ciampa) Simeone of Quincy, formerly of East Boston, died peacefully at the Newton-Wellesley Hospital. She was 86. Born and raised in Montefalcione, Avellino, Italy, the daughter of the late Giuseppe and Carmela (Cataldo) Ciampa. She moved to Argentina with her family in 1952 before settling in Boston in 1965. She lived in Quincy for many years. Caterina worked as a baker in the John Hancock Building before her retirement. A devoted wife, sister and loving aunt, Caterina loved time with her family and delighted in preparing meals and sharing holidays with her family and friends.


The beloved wife of the late Candelario A. Simeone, she was a devoted sister to Mario Ciampa of Italy, Maria DiGiovanni of Malden, Carolina Pin of Argentina, Bianca Perez of Sudbury, Raffaele Ciampa of Waltham, Assunta Scata of Revere and the late Gennaro Ciampa. She also leaves many loving nieces and nephews.

Her funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford, Wednesday May 2nd at 9 AM followed by a funeral mass celebrated in the Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours Tuesday 4 -8 PM. Services will conclude with entombment at Holy Cross Chapel Mausoleum, Malden.
