Sebastiano James “Jimmy” Morello, age 87, of Medford passed away Saturday morning at the Mt. Auburn Hospital. Born and raised in Boston’s west End, he was the son of the late Gaetano and Mary (Mignosa) Morello. A hard working man, Jimmy started working as a boy, shining shoes in Boston. After high school he served in the army during the Korean War. After his honorable discharge, he worked in the trucking business before enjoying a long career in the commercial printing industry. After his retirement, he worked for over ten years as a custodian with the Lexington School District at the Maria Hastings Elementary School where he was beloved by students and staff. He is also fondly remembered for his years working at the Waltham Public Library. He was a dedicated husband, father, grandfather and brother who enjoyed the company of his family and friends.

He is survived by his wife, Nimfa (Falcon) Morello, his children: Gina Boznak of Lewisville, TX, James Morello and his wife Kristin of Tewksbury, Diana McKee and Andrea Duffy, both of Reading, Patricia Strohman and her husband Bryan of North Reading, the late Joseph Morello and his surviving wife Christina. He was a loving grandfather to: Ashley, Rachael, Sarah, Vincent, Mikayla, Alyssa, Caitlin, Hannah, Mariana, Adeline, Dylan and Parker. Jim leaves his former wife Joan McCourt. He was a dear brother to Robert Morelllo and his wife Susan, Mary MacIsaac and her late husband Joseph, all of Medford, Joseph Morello and his wife Martha of Chelmsford, Richard Morello and his wife June of Stoneham.

His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main St., Medford on Friday, May 4th at 8:30 Am followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated in St. Raphael Church, 512 High Street, Medford, at 9:30 AM Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford. Relatives and friends are kindly invited and may visit with the family at the funeral home on Thursday from 4 thru 8 PM.
