WAYLAND: Catherine Diane “Katie” Veglia, 37, died unexpectedly on Saturday, April 7, 2018 at the Marlborough Hospital.
She was born in Boston on March 21, 1981 the daughter of Charlotte Ann (Simpson) Veglia and Jerome John Veglia both of Wayland.
Katie was the mother of Anson Charles Eldridge and Gianna Sky Del Valle. She is also survived by several aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Katie has resided in Wayland for over 27 years and graduated from Wayland High School with the Class of 1999. She attended the Blaine School for Cosmetology in Framingham.
She enjoyed sketching, various forms of art and music and in her earlier years won a local competition to have some or her artwork on display at the Museum of Fine Arts. Katie also enjoyed flowers and time spent with her children and her family.
Visitations will be held on Friday, April 13, 2018 from 4:00 to 6:00 pm at the John C. Bryant Funeral Home, 56 Pemberton Road, Wayland.
Private family graveside services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers her family kindly requests that memorial gifts in Katie’s memory may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Assoc. of MA/NH, 309 Waverly Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452 in memory of her grandmother, Catherine (Spellman) Veglia.
