Lawrence J. “Larry” Call, age 80, of Hernando, Florida, formerly of Mansfield, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at the Sturdy Memorial Hospital in Attleboro. He was the beloved husband of Mary K. (Kiehn) Gibson and the late Louise M. (Palmer) Call who died in 2007.

Born in Boston, MA on December 18, 1937, he was a loving son of the late Arthur and Hazel R. (Cutlip) Call.

Larry grew up in the West Roxbury section of Boston, was educated in Boston parochial schools and was a graduate of Oliver Wendell Holmes High School. He had made his home in Florida for the past eighteen years and was a former resident of Mansfield for over twenty years.

Prior to retiring, Mr. Call had been employed as a manufacturing manager for the Polaroid Corporation, and had previously worked at RCA and at Data General.

While living in Mansfield, Larry attended St. Mary’s Church with his family, and was a member and Past Grand Knight of the Foxboro Knights of Columbus. While living in Florida, he was associated with several Alzheimer’s Committees.

Mr. Call enjoyed spending time with his adoring family, especially his grandchildren and was anticipating the birth of his third great grandchild. He was also an avid golfer and a member of the former Willowdale Golf Course in Mansfield. Larry was especially proud of the appearance of his home and loved engaging in projects around the house.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his devoted children Michael L. Call and his wife Susan of Mansfield, Kathleen LoDico and her husband Paul of Mansfield, James M. Call of Florida, Kenneth W. Call and his wife Theresa of North Easton, and Elizabeth R. Lynch and her husband Steve of Mansfield. He was the dear brother of William Call of Milford, Rita Quirk of Pittsfield, Robert Call of Plainville, and the late Eileen Kushmerick, Arthur Call, Mary Murphy and Joseph Call. He is also survived by his cherished 10 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Services and burial will be held privately at the convenience of his family.

Visiting hours are omitted and those wishing may remember Larry with a donation in his memory made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452.
