Charles V. Richardson, Jr., age 69, of Phoenix, Arizona, formerly of Franklin, passed away on Monday, April 9, 2018 at the Chandler Regional Medical Center in Chandler, Arizona. He was the beloved husband of Sheryl R. (Grassi) Richardson.

Born in Boston, MA on September 3, 1948, he was a loving son of the late Charles V., Sr. and Eleanor P. (Reilly) Richardson.

Chuck grew up in Randolph and was a graduate of Randolph High School. During the Vietnam War, he proudly served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corps and was a recipient of the Purple Heart. Following his honorable discharged with the rank of Corporal, he returned to school and graduated from Arizona State University with a Bachelor’s degree in finance.

A resident of Arizona for the past twenty-eight years, he had been employed as a Loss Prevention Manager at UPS for twenty years before retiring. Chuck loved engaging in outdoor activities, which included hiking, skiing and pristinely maintaining his yard.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by his devoted children Kathryn “Kathy” Richardson-Ireland and her husband Chris, Darlene Richardson-Toriello and her husband Bob, Caroline Richardson, Jaclyn Richardson, and Edward Bassett, Jr. and his wife Heidi. He is also survived by 5 brothers, 6 sisters, and many nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by 1 sister.

Visiting hours, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be held on Thursday, April 19th from 5:00-8:00 P.M. at the Norton Memorial Funeral Home, 19 Clapp St. (Off Route 140, Taunton Ave.) Norton.

A committal service, along with military honors, will be held on Friday, April 20th at 2:15 P.M. at the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne. Those attending are asked to go directly to cemetery and arrive by 2:00 P.M.

Due to the limitation of flowers allowed at the National Cemetery, Chuck’s family has requested that donations in his memory be made to a local animal shelter of ones choice.
