Obituary

WILLARD MATHIS, 87, passed away March 15, 2018.

He was a retired employee of Mason & Dixon Truck Lines, a former member of the Guild of Artists and Craftmans, Louisville Artisians and Kentucky Craft Market. Willard was a member of the Teamsters Union Local 89, Valley Church of Christ and was an Air Force veteran.

Survivors include his beloved wife of 63 years, Elaine (Taylor) Mathis; children, Sherry Fay Martin (Tony) and Gary Mathis (Linda); grandchildren, Raymond Neal Mathis (Ashley), Casey and Jeff Martin, and Kathleen Johnson; great grandchildren, Abigail, Phillip, Jacob, Naomi, Molly, Max, Lilli, Maggie and Roland; brothers, Lloyd (Donna), Jerry (Sharon) and Johnny (Debbie) Mathis; sisters, Georgia Key and Debra Mathis; and several nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Tuesday at Owen Funeral Home, 5317 Dixie Highway with burial in Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Central, Radcliff, KY.

Visitation will be from 2 – 8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.

The family wishes to thank the VA Medical Center nurses, doctors and staff, Caretenders and Hosparus for the love and care given to Willard.
