Billie M. (May) Siena, age 73, of Mansfield, passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, February 14, 2018 at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. She was the beloved wife of Jeffrey J. Siena, to whom she was wed for nearly fifty years.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her devoted daughter Corrine M. Siena of Mansfield. She was the sister of Phyllis Walsh of Connecticut and the late BetteAnn DuFour, and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Born in Sharon, Connecticut on September 9, 1944, she was a loving daughter of the late Edward “Paul” and Marie P. (DuBois) May.

Billie grew up and was educated in Salisbury, Connecticut. She was a graduate of Housatonic Valley Regional High School in Falls Village and received a certificate in nursing from the Bristol Hospital School of Nursing.

A retired Licensed Practical Nurse, Mrs. Siena had made her home in Mansfield for the past forty years, where she was active in community affairs. She was a communicant of St. Mary’s Church, served as a longtime Girl Scout Leader and for her devotion in restoring the Old Town Cemetery in Mansfield, was the recipient of an award in 1998 from the Massachusetts Historic Commission for outstanding commitment to the Commonwealth.

Billie loved spending time with her family and had a special place in her heart for animals. Her hobbies included gardening, cooking, reading, bird watching and time spent at the ocean.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her devoted daughter Corrine M. Siena of Mansfield. She was the sister of Phyllis Walsh of Connecticut and the late BetteAnn DuFour, and is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Her funeral Mass, to which relatives and friends are cordially invited to attend, will be celebrated on Thursday, February 22nd at 11:00 A.M. in St. Mary’s Church, 330 Pratt St. (Route 106) Mansfield. Burial will be private.

Visitation will be held prior to the services on Thursday morning from 9:00-10:30 A.M. at the Sherman & Jackson Funeral Home, 55 North Main St., Mansfield.

In lieu of flowers, Billie’s family has requested that donations in her memory be made to the Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine Wildlife Clinic, 200 Westboro Road, North Grafton, MA 01536.
