Clifton Dennis, 92, died on Saturday, December 23, 2017. He was the husband of the late Rita (Larue) Dennis. They had been married for fifty-one years.
Born in Baltimore, Maryland, he was a son of Franklin and Myrna (Stevenson) Dennis. Clifton received a degree in Forestry Service and worked with the Maryland Forestry Service for many years before retiring and making his home in Greenville. He had served in the United States Navy. He was an avid golfer since his teenage years. Upon moving to Greenville, he was employed at the Melody Hill Golf Course in Harmony for almost twenty years and played golf frequently until the age of 86.
He is survived by his daughter, Sandra Dennis and her husband, Jeffrey Home, of Cumberland. He is predeceased by his son, Gary Dennis.
His funeral will be held Thursday at 10am in the Anderson-Winfield Home, Greenville. Burial will follow in St. John the Baptist Cemetery, Bellingham, MA. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Hopkins Manor, Patient Activities, 610 Smithfield Avenue, North Providence, RI 02904
