Mercedes (Ricafort) Macasaet, a resident of Andover and beloved wife of the late Jacinto Macasaet, passed away at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston on Sunday, December 24, 2017. She was 84 years old.
Born in the Philippines on December 1, 1933, she was the beloved daughter of the late Benigno and Flora (Honrade) Ricafort.
Mrs. Macasaet attended Far Eastern University in the Philippines. Mercedes enjoyed reading, gardening, and cooking for her family. Her gentle demeanor, and her smile that lit up a room, will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her loving children; Alexander Macasaet of Melbourne, Australia, Astrid and her husband Alfred Arcifa of Andover, Crisostomo Macasaet of the Philippines, Jaime and his wife Leslie Macasaet of Andover, Isagani and his wife Bene Macasaet of the Philippines and Dennis and his wife Meliza Macasaet of Andover, sister; Martha Cacalda of Toronto, Canada, grandchildren; Omar Mukthar, Alexander,Jr., Jan Christian, Christine Joy, Janaesa, Alfred Gabriel, Fatima May, Kelly Madison and Sophie Isabella, great-grandchildren; Mia, Alannah and Declan and many nieces and nephews. She was the mother of the late Jacinto Macasaet Jr. and Alfredo and Alma Macasaet. She was predeceased by her sister, Concordia, and her brother Fernando.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the St. Augustine Church, 43 Essex Street, Andover on Tuesday, January 2, 2018, at 10:30 a.m. Relatives and friends are most welcome to attend.
