Salvatore S. Triolo, of Everett, passed away on Thursday, December 21st at the Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. He was 78.

Born in Mineo, Sicily, Italy, he was the son of the late Rosario and Antonia (DeStefano) Triolo. Sal worked as a Test Boring Engineer and enjoyed his career. After his retirement he enjoyed being with his family. In his spare time, he loved to cook. He was given the nickname,”Subby Sal” for his famous sandwich, “The Sicilian”. An avid gardener, Sal loved growing his own food and learned how to pick wild mushrooms that were safe to eat. He was also a coin collector and enjoyed learning about history. His favorite car was his BMW, and no matter where he went, he always had his gold jewelry and Rayban sunglasses on. A true family man, his wife, children and grandchildren are what mattered most to him. Their success was his success, and there wasn’t anything he wouldn’t do for his family.

He was the beloved husband of Anna (Long) Triolo. The two were married on July 16, 1966 at Immaculate Conception Church in Malden. They shared 51 loving years of marriage. He was the devoted father of Maria Triolo of Revere, Patricia Belluscio and her husband Joseph of Everett, Lorraine Triolo and her husband Victor Andrades of Salem, Gina Karlsson and her husband Magnus of Haverhill, Elizabeth Donahue and her husband Daniel of Wakefield. Sal was the loving grandfather of 13, and the dear sister of Stella Triolo of Chelsea. He was preceded in death by his siblings Maria Triolo, Anna Raia and John Triolo. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main Street, Medford, on Friday, December 29th at 9 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated in Immaculate Conception Church, 600 Pleasant Street, Malden, at 10 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Thursday from 4 through 8 PM. Services will conclude with interment at Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden.
