Dr. Nicholas Anthony Perrotta

Dr. Nicholas Anthony Perrotta, of Wakefield, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family on Thursday, December 21st at the Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston. He was 55.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, he was the son of the late Nicola and Anna (Stratzullo) Perrotta. Nick graduated from Xaverian High School, Brooklyn New York and continued his education at Syracuse University graduating with the Class of 1984. His graduate studies were completed at Tufts Dental in 1988 and Albert Einstein Medical Center Class of 1989.

In 1991 Nick opened his practice, Parrotta Dental in Medford Square. He was co-owner of Townsend Dental Group, West Townsend, Massachusetts, and owner of 8LIBRE Real Estate/True North Realty.

Nick was a proud participant in many startup companies for stem cell research. He loved his work and being able to make a difference in people’s lives. A kind and gentle man, he was selfless and always “for the people”. He was an advocate for others and cared about his community. Nick had a loving and extremely positive personality that people were drawn to. No matter the situation, if he were in the room, you felt at peace.

A man of great faith, he lived his life in accordance with the Christian values: Faith, Hope and Charity. Nick was an avid fundraiser for charitable organizations, especially the Dana Farber Jimmy Fund. He volunteered his time to coach softball and baseball for local children’s teams and was always available to help anyone who called on him. No matter the situation, he put those around him first.

In his spare time, Nick would be found with his family. He treasured the time he spent with his wife and children. Nick would leave work early to make sure he was at his children’s sporting events. He loved watching his son play basketball. Nick loved the all the Boston sports teams, and always made room in his heart for the Redskins and the Mets. He loved to cook and his family loved to eat his signature dish, fradiavolo.

Nick left a legacy that lives on through his family, friends and community. The love that he shared with everyone, his generosity of spirit and his compassion made an impact on many lives.

Nick was the beloved husband of Dr. Carolyn DeAngelis-Perrotta. The two married on September 6, 1993 at St. Francis of Assisi Church in Medford. They shared 24 years of loving marriage. He was the devoted father of Michaela L. Perrotta and Nicholas M. Perrotta, both of Wakefield and the dear brother of Robert Perrotta and his wife Mary of New York. Nick was the loving uncle of Stephen Perrotta and his wife Katherine of Georgia, Jacqueline Perrotta of New York, and the loving great uncle of Julianna Perrotta of Georgia. He is also survived by his Uncle Rocco Coda of New York and many loving cousins.

His funeral will be from the Dello Russo Funeral Home, 306 Main Street, Medford, on Thursday, December 28th at 10:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass celebrated at St. Florence Church, 47 Butler Avenue, Wakefield at 11:30 AM. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 4 through 8 PM. Services will conclude with interment at Oak Grove Cemetery, Medford.
