Passed away peacefully at home on her own terms, snuggled in & surrounded by those who love her on December 20, 2017. Preceded in death by her loving companion of 25 years, Ron Carpenter; mom Marjorie Murphy "Gramma Mugga"; dad Steven Gontarek; brothers Vernon & Bobby Gontarek; former spouse DuWayne "Diz" Cadwell. Joyce was the Tree and she is survived by her Apples, Laurie Keegel (Troy) & Jen Cadwell-Parker (Terry); grandchildren Marjorie "Maggie" Moore, DuWayne "Duey" Moore, Rhiannon "Punkin Seed" Parker; sister Doris Moody; step sister Margaret Murphy; sister-in-law Gayle Gontarek; many nieces & nephews. Joyce loved her children & grandchildren fiercely; they were her number one joy. She will always be our strong, loving, silly, dorky, creative, generous, stubborn & independent matriarch of the family. She was magnetic in attracting beautiful souls and sharing her love with them abundantly. Mass of Christian Burial Friday (12/22) 10:00 AM at CHURCH OF ST. PETER, 2600 N. Margaret St., North St. Paul, with visitation one hour prior to Mass. Interment Resurrection Cemetery. Heartfelt thanks to Erin & Allen Carroll, lifelong neighbor & friend Kathy Blair, Dr. Jeanne Anderson, Winnie, & all of the various people who have brought love into her life.
