Obituary

Robert W. Driscoll, 54, of Derry, NH, passed away Tuesday December 12, 2017 after a year-long battle with cancer, in Catholic Medical Center in Manchester, NH surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Boston, MA on March 2, 1963, a son of J. George and Nancy (Sparrow) Driscoll. Bob graduated from New Hampshire College where he met his wife Ann. Bob worked for many years as a programmer, most recently from home for PeopleStrategy, based in Atlanta.

Bob loved trains, both model railroads and the real thing. He spent many years coaching both Derry Little League teams as well as town recreational basketball and T-ball. He was a walk-on starter for the New Hampshire College baseball team, learning to pitch over the summer in a local league. Bob was captain of the team his senior year and a life-long Red Sox fan. He loved his software programming job and co-workers. His favorite colleague was his sweet cat Wally who helped him work every day.

More than anything, Bob loved his family. He was proud of his sons David and Patrick and their achievements both in school and as kind and wonderful young men. He worked hard to give his family a good life. At family gatherings, he was took great pride and was much in demand as the family grill master. A man of few words, he made them count. He will be missed every day.

In addition to his parents, Robert is also survived by his beloved wife of 31 years, Ann T. (Voorhies) Driscoll, his two sons, David Driscoll and Patrick Driscoll, one sister, MaryAnn Florek and husband Francis, one brother, Charles Driscoll and his partner Sandra Otis, four nephews, AJ, Jack, Chris and Nick Florek, his beloved “dog” Wally the cat, as well as many aunts, uncles and cousins.


Calling hours will be held on Sunday, December 17, 2017 from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM in the Peabody Funeral Homes and Crematorium, 290 Mammoth Rd., Londonderry, NH. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, December 18, 2017 at 10:00am in St. Thomas Aquinas Church, 26 Crystal Avenue, Derry with cremation to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Derry Little League, P.O. Box 947, Derry, NH 03038, or the Mass Bay RRE Preservation Fund, PO Box 4245, Andover, MA 01810 or the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
