Joseph W. “DoDo” Higgins passed away peacefully on December 11, 2017. Born in Boston, Joseph was raised and educated in Dorchester. He was a resident of Scituate for over 20 years and previously lived in Dorchester and Quincy. He was an Army veteran and a late member of the Coast Guard Reserves. DoDo as he was so fondly called loved boating, fishing, listening to the ball games, and spending time with his granddaughter and grandson. He was referred to by his neighbors as the “go to guy”. He was a very wise man with a quick sense of humor. Beloved father of Ann M. Kirk and her husband Edward of Taunton. Grandfather of Leah and Johnathan Kirk. Brother of the late Catherine M. Erhardt and John Higgins. Also survived by several nieces and a nephew . Funeral mass at Sacred Heart Church, N. Quincy Monday morning at 10. Visiting hours at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home 326 Granite Ave Milton Sunday 2-6 pm. Burial St. Joseph’s Cemetery, W. Roxbury .
