Obituary

Dorothy J. Shorey, 72, of Hudson, NH, passed away peacefully on December 11, 2017 at St. Joseph Hospital in Nashua, NH surrounded by family. Dorothy was born on August 29, 1945 in Derry, NH and was the daughter of the late Ruth Hoisington Morneau. She was raised and educated in Derry, NH, a graduate of the Pinkerton Class of 1963. On September 17, 1966 she married her late husband Richard Shorey who passed away in June of 2017. Just last year they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.

Dorothy spent many of her years as a homemaker, raising her two daughters, Tammy Leonard and Holly Devine, and her niece, Robyn Grieco Harris, who was like a third daughter to her. When the children grew older Dorothy returned to the workforce first as a banker and later as a patient service representative at St. Joseph Family Medical Center in Hudson, NH where she worked for many years until she was no longer able to.

Dorothy enjoyed spending time with her husband, siblings, children and grandchildren and could be found every summer in York Beach, Maine where she would never miss a chance to visit Nubble Light. Along with her love for lighthouses, Dorothy was an avid sports fan, reader and never missed her daily crossword. Her latest adventure though was running her virtual café in Cafeland where she made many friends and burned plenty of food.

Dorothy is survived by her daughter Tammy Leonard and her husband Keith of Litchfield, NH and their children, Brittanie and her fiancé Kevin, Courtney and Cameron Leonard; her daughter Holly Devine of Hudson, NH and her children, Garrett, Skye and Kylie Devine. She is also survived by her sister, Judith Grieco and her husband John of Hampstead, NH; her brother, Rick Morneau and his wife Susan of Plaistow, NH and her brother Bob Morneau and his wife Connie of Indialantic, Florida. Her sister in law Elaine Noble of Derry, NH and her brother in law, Jim Noble of Derry, NH in addition to many nieces, nephews and friends. Mrs. Shorey was predeceased by her husband, Richard Shorey, her mother Ruth Hoisington Morneau and her sister Brenda Levesque.
