Obituary

Richard G. Barber, 70, of Washington Street, Pawtucket, died Thursday December 7th at his home surrounded by his family. He was the husband of Darlene M. (Cairo) Barber. They had been married for 35 years.

Born in East Providence, a son of the late George and Esther (Roderick) Barber. He had lived in Pawtucket for most of his life.
He was a Concrete Cutter with Cut-Rite Concrete Cutting before retiring. He was also a bartender in local clubs throughout RI.

He was an avid softball player, motocross racer and windsurfer. He had been a member of the RI Laborers' Union, Local 271, the Italian DIP Club and the Jacques Cartier Club.

Besides his wife he is survived by his children, Richard G. Barber, Jr., and his wife Ashley of North Providence and Retha G. Barber of Pawtucket, his grandchildren, Chloe and Aria, and his nephews and nieces. He leaves his brother, Rodney Barber of Pawtucket. He was the brother of the late Calvin and George Barber.

A celebration of Richard's life will be held on Thursday, December 14th from 2pm-6pm. A brief prayer service will be held at 2:30 at The Italian DIP Club 35 Memorial Drive, Pawtucket, Rhode Island 02860. Please come and share your stories and memories of Richard with family and friends.
