Obituary

Kevin F. Brophy, age 70, of West Bridgewater, died peacefully, November 26, 2017. Kevin was the husband of the late Mildred (Mannix) Brophy. Born and raised in Brockton, he was the son of the late Joseph and Helena (O’Connell) Brophy. He was a 1965 graduate of Brockton High School and for over 20 years was the drummer in a local band called the White Knights. Kevin was extremely patriotic and proud of his military service and during Vietnam served two tours with the Navy Seabees. For many years Kevin worked as a Transporter for the Brockton VA Medical Center. He enjoyed spending time at the beach, watching the history channel and was a longtime member of the Amvets and VFW.

Kevin was the brother of John “Jack” Brophy and his wife Jackie of Randolph, Anne DeVito and her husband Vincent of Bridgewater, Richard Brophy and his wife Jean of East Bridgewater and the late Joseph, Timothy, and Dennis “Michael” Brophy. He also leaves his aunt Louise Rudolph, his longtime companion Ann Lincoln, many nieces and nephews and sister in law Judy Brophy.

Visitation will be held in the Conley Funeral Home, 138 Belmont Street (Rte 123) Brockton, Monday, December 4, 4-7pm, followed by a funeral service at 7pm. Burial will be held at a later date in the Massachusetts National Cemetery. Donations may be made in Kevin’s name to the Boston VA Healthcare System, Memorial Gift Fund, 940 Belmont Street, Brockton, MA 02301.
