Kathleen M. “Kathy” (Butler) Badger, age 65 of East Bridgewater, died unexpectedly Monday November 20, 2017 at Brigham and Women’s Hospital. She was the loving wife of Dennis Badger. Kathy was born and raised in Brockton, a daughter of the late Ernest and Eileen (Lynch) Butler and lived in Brockton for most of her life. Since 1980 she had resided in East Bridgewater.
A 1970 graduate of Cardinal Spellman High School, Kathy graduated summa cum laude from Bridgewater State College with a BA in Education. She had been a teacher with the Department of Youth Services in Brockton and Taunton for many years and retired in 2014. Kathy previously was a pharmacy tech in the pharmacy department at Good Samaritan Medical Center.
In her free time, Kathy enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles and traveling. She loved spending time with her family and friends, most especially her grandchildren. She will be remembered as a smart, caring and protective woman with a great sense of humor.
In addition to her husband, Kathy leaves two daughters Jackie De la Torre and her husband Joe of Stoughton and Alison Smith and her husband Brian of E. Bridgewater. She also leaves her two cherished grandchildren Julianna and Tyler Smith and was the sister of the late William Butler.
Visiting hours will be held in the Conley Funeral Home 138 Belmont St. (rte. 123) Brockton on Friday 4-8pm. A procession will gather at the funeral home on Saturday at 9 am for a funeral Mass in St. Patrick Church at 10 am. Burial will be at a later date.
