Obituary

FALL RIVER - Deodato Melo Pacheco, age 81, passed away on November 14, 2017, surrounded by his children and loving wife, Irene (Branco) Pacheco, of 57 years. Born in Lomba de Loução, Povoacão, São Miguel, Açores, he was the son of the late Mariano Britos and Ema (Ferreira-DeMelo) Pacheco. He was a retired boat molder at O’day Boats and Caroll Marine LTD. He was a Eucharistic Minister at Santo Christo Church and a member of the Holy Name Society. He was a loyal fan of FC Benfica.

Deodato was the father of Osvaldo (wife Susan), Paulo (spouse David) and Henry Pacheco, Jessica Silva, Carmen Pettine, Goretti Eonas, Annie Pacheco, and the late Lucia Fatima Pacheco. He was the brother of Tereza Torres, Judite Cabral, Madalena Pimental, and the late Germano Pacheco. He also leaves 14 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Monday here at 7:45 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial Santo Christo Church at 9 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours on Sunday from 4-8 P.M. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Santo Christo Church Building Restoration Fund in the memory of Deodato Pacheco.
