FALL RIVER – Maria E. Carvalho, age 81, passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by her loving family on November 11, 2017. She was the beloved wife of John S. Carvalho. Born in Furnas, São Miguel, Açores, she was the daughter of the late Manuel & Eugenia (Tavares) Amaral. Maria especially loved spending time with her family.
Along with her husband Maria is survived by her children Ana Pavao (husband Americo) of Fall River, Steven Carvalho (wife Lucy) of S. Dartmouth and Natalie DeAlmeida (husband Eddie) of Fall River; sister Maria Carmo Santos of Canada; 6 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her sister Maria C. Silva and grandchild Michael Pavao.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Wednesday here at 7:45 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial Santo Cristo Church at 9 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery. Calling hours on Tuesday from 4-8 P.M. www.rogersfuneral.com.
