FALL RIVER – Gloria S. (Da Silva) Morgado, age 81 of Fall River, passed away on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017 at home with her loving family by her side. Born in São Roque, São Miguel, Açores, she was the daughter of the late João & Gloria (Costa) Da Silva and the wife of the late Manuel Morgado. Prior to retiring, Gloria worked as a Dry Cleaner for Delken Cleaners and previously worked at Catholic Memorial Home in housekeeping. She was a parishioner of St. Joseph’s Church.
She is survived by her 3 children: Lucy Soares of Westport, Maria C. Moniz (husband Joseph) of Fall River, and Ildebrando Morgado (wife Maria) of New Bedford; 2 siblings: Jose Da Silva & Alda Casimiro both of Fall River; 7 grandchildren: Adam, Nikita, & Jonathan Soares, Kevin, Paula, & Christine Moniz, Jordan Morgado; 4 great grandchildren: Cameron & Jayden Moniz, Eric Connors Jr., Mia Moniz; many nieces & nephews. She was the sister of the late João & Francisco Da Silva.
Her funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Thursday here at 9:00 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial in St. Joseph’s Church at 10:00 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery. Calling hours on Wednesday from 5-8 P.M.
