FALL RIVER – George Bessette, age 70, passed away peacefully at home on November 3, 2017 surrounded by his family and friends. He was the beloved husband of Huynh Tran. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Anita (Bessette) Lapre. George was a veteran of the Vietnam War and served as a Helicopter Doorgunner and was nominated to be awarded 2 Silver Stars and a Bronze Star. He was a lifetime member of the D.A.V. He had a love of antique cars and especially loved spending time with his family.
Along with his wife he is survived by his daughter Tram Tran.
His funeral will take place from the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Wednesday here at 9 A.M. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial St. Louie de France Church at 10 A.M. Interment in St. Patrick’s Cemetery in Somerset.
