FALL RIVER - Arthur Baldia, age 82, passed away unexpectedly November 1, 2017. He was the beloved husband of the late Beatrice (Botelho) Baldia. Born in Fall River, he was the son of the late Manuel and Eugenie Baldia. Arthur was a plumber for many years, worked at Quaker Fabrics and the Fall River School Department until his retirement. He had a love for hunting in his early years, fishing and racing pigeons. He was a member of the Fall River Racing Pigeon Club, a former member of the St. John’s Athletic Club and also an army veteran.
Arthur is survived by his children: Arthur Jr. and Valerie Kaegael with her longtime companion Thomas Rioux; two grandchildren, R. Kris and Heather L. Kaegael; great-granddaughter Brooke Higgins; as well as several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his great-grandson Grayson Liam Goncalves; siblings Henry Baldia, Alice Charest and Jacqueline Martin. Arthur was loved and will be sorely missed by all.
His funeral service will take place in the Manuel Rogers & Sons Funeral Home, Inc. 1521 N. Main St. Fall River on Monday at 10:00 A.M. Interment in Notre Dame Cemetery, Fall River.
