Curley, Mary C. (Goonan) passed away peacefully on Monday, October 23, 2017. Born, raised, and educated in Woodford, Co. Galway, Ireland, Mary emigrated to the U.S. as a young woman and settled in the Boston area. For many years she had lived in the Back Bay. She was a former employee of Schrafft’s Restaurant, Boston, a retired Supervisor of Gillette’s Corporate Dining at the Prudential Center as well as an employee of the Greater Boston Convention and Visitor’s Center. The devoted daughter of the late Henry and Bridget (Coen) Goonan, she was the loving sister of Nora Morrissey and her husband Patrick of Dorchester, Thomas Goonan and his wife Nora of Needham, Bridget Stapleton and her husband Joseph, Margaret Minogue, Gerard Goonan and his wife Theresa, all of Ireland. Predeceased by her brothers Michael Goonan and his late wife Sadie, and Patrick, Henry and Joseph Goonan. Mary was the dear cousin of Mary Mullen Miele of Back Bay, Boston. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Gregory Church, Dorchester, Saturday morning, October 28, 2017 at 10:30. Visiting will be held at the Alfred D. Thomas Funeral Home, 326 Granite Ave., Milton, 9 to 10 am prior to Mass. Burial in Milton Cemetery.
